Will technology ever outgrow nature?

Few weeks ago i was at the Beijing capital airport to pick some friends. And because of lightening around that area,Flights were not allowed to land and most of them were diverted to Shanghai,Tianjin and Guangzhou.I was just wondering if people can make a vast machine such as the airbus A380,why then can't they stop a few sparks of lightening?

Actually, there is a better way to do it. A simple lightening rod mounted on top of the plane and electrically connected to an onboard capacitor should solve the problem. More importantly, the charges collected can be used to fly the plane, saving fuel costs.
